Vile Parle Premier League (VPPL) is a prominent football league in Mumbai, India, that serves as a significant platform for discovering and nurturing raw talent in the sport. Often referred to as the “beautiful game,” football transcends the boundaries of just a sport, as it brings together teams, fans, and sponsors, creating a vibrant community.

The VPPL follows a meticulous registration, trial, and auction process to ensure a fair distribution of talent among the participating franchisees. This system helps maintain a level playing field and fosters healthy competition. Since its establishment in 2011, the league has witnessed substantial growth and support from both fans and sponsors, enabling it to expand and improve year after year.

To cater to the growing interest in football, VPPL introduced various initiatives, such as the U-16 league, a girl’s league, and a sub-league that allows clubs to progress to the Premier League. These initiatives not only promote inclusiveness and gender equality but also contribute to the overall development of football in the city.

As the largest franchise-based football league in Vile Parle, the VPPL has been successfully administering the event for 13 years. It has become a significant talent scouting platform for numerous clubs in the city. ISL and I-League players like Raynier Fernandes, Melroy Assissi, Nikhil Prabhu and Vinil Poojary and many more have played in the Vile Parle Premier League. Each year, more than 2500 players register, and around 15,000 people attend the competition, showcasing the league’s popularity and its role in fostering the love for football within the community.
